A bit about the creators

Lauren

A dedicated teacher with eight years of classroom experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Lauren also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development from Central Michigan University. On a daily basis she uses the concepts from the stories in her current position as a preschool teacher in Venice, California by helping children identify, connect to, and feel empowered about emotions. She is passionate about helping children have success while learning new skills and dealing with emotional situations. She believes in the importance of positive reinforcement, that opportunities can be created by reframing situations, and allowing time for change. It has been her long term dream to create children’s books with her sister, Rachel.

Rachel

Rachel graduated with a BFA in Art & Design from The University of Michigan, where she had her first job as a cartoon artist for the university newspaper, and went on to build experience in illustration and graphic design for marketing. Today, when she’s not personalizing books, she’s designing content for crowdfunding campaigns for new entrepreneurs. Rachel has been infatuated with visual art since she was little. As Lauren’s younger sister, she was the student when the two would “play school.” Illustrating Toddly Books is a realization of a life-long goal, and the project has brought the sisters even closer together.

Jamie

Jamie is a communications executive with almost 20 years of experience.  After spending her career developing integrated global strategies and brand positioning programs for some of the world’s leading luxury brands, her most important title is Mom. Raising her two boys, she’s experienced the value of Toddly Books first hand as her kiddos, Dylan and Pierce (along with Mama and Dada!) have gained the confidence to face toddlerhood challenges as a family.
